The black man his antecedents his genius and his achievements William Wells Brown 9781177367035 Books
I have never read a more clear, honest, simple, and intelligent description of life during slavery than the author recreates here from his own personal experience. There is nothing like reading the words of a former slave describing his own state and the state of those around him. If you don't believe me, just read the introduction in the "look inside"--you will be be mesmerized as I was. What an amazing account of life and the will to overcome adversity. Let me say this, however: This book was written by a fugitive slave well over 100 years ago. It is in the public domain. There is no copyright on it. It is free all over the internet--just search the name and you will find dozens of electronic editions which can easily be turned into Kindle readable files via a program like Caliber, etc. Why Amazon is charging for this book, I have no idea, but I have alerted them that it is free elsewhere so they will match that price. Kind of ironic to have someone still trying to make money off his labor without paying him.Product details
